Performs a variety of deckhand tasks in connection with making-up and breaking up tows, dredging, snagging, tending floating plant, revetment construction operations, and channel patrol. Duties include securing floating plant with lines, signaling boat operators, making slings, splicing cables and ropes, washing down decks, chipping paint and rust, and general maintenance of floating plant.
